Brian Moore grew up on a farm near Owen Sound, Ontario, on the traditional territories of The Peoples of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Bodéwadmi Nations. He has written short fiction most of his life but to pay the bills, he moved to Toronto as a young man and worked in a variety of careers, including research, tech support, and project management. What he loves about writing short stories is creating entire lives and then compressing those lives into only a few pages. He owes a debt to the many teachers and writers he’s met along the way who encouraged him to never settle for easy words and lazy endings. Brian’s stories have appeared in journals such as Blank Spaces, Valparaiso Fiction Review, and Event Magazine. What Happened To Us is his first short story collection, released this fall by Blue Denim Press.
