Patricia Calder was born into a family of eight authors and started writing at age 11 in a Hilroy notebook, which she carried on field adventures. Always a lover of stories, she studied fiction writing under Canadian authors Matt Cohen, Katherine Govier, Anne Simpson, and Christy Ann Conlin, among others. Patricia has published many short stories and creative nonfiction pieces. In 2015 she released her novel Roadblock. Since then Pat has written, and illustrated with her photographs, an account of her visit to Sable Island and 2 new short stories will be published this November in Hill Spirits III
