  1. All the stories are uplifting. I particularly appreciated the message behind “Papa Invites Angels” (Mackay). In times when Christmas has come to mean little more than the granting of wishes for a never-ending stream of material goods and loads of free time to enjoy them, it is refreshing to hear about a culture where what people wish for is not some magical intervention that will bring them good fortune and improve their circumstances, but for the strength and virtues of character that will enable them, through their own efforts, to make the world a better place for all. We are reminded, in the West, of a similar sentiment expressed in the oft-quoted words of JFK: “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”

    • Thank you for these insightful words, Denise. Your comments are well-taken and very much appreciated.

  2. My Papá invites Angels can only be created by someone whose soul is still seasoned by the magic of the universe. The story is plethoric of charm, naivety, emotion and art. Thank you, Mackay. What a wonderful gift to human kind! Congratulations! Love, Nila Mendoza.
